Description
Original World War II Japanese RPM tachometer gauge instrument in original box with paperwork insert dated Showa 18 (1943) and stated from Sasebo armament factory naval base at the upper right margin. Gauge was likely used for testing the RPM for torpedo motors. Item was purchased from the estate of a WWII US GI, so I assume this is a war captured piece. Gauge itself appears to be in good condition, the cracking is on the face of the gauge itself and not on the glass. Finally, one of the hinges on the box is broken as pictured. Wooden box measures approximately 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 x 1 3/4 inches and the entire apparatus inside the box weighs about 1 pound.
