Description
This trunk was brought back from a 2d division marine who was active in securing the surrender of Japan during the last months of the war. It has his name and Date on it. It is some sort of equipment trunk from the Mitsubishi plant in Kumamoto. It is marked inside the lid. The 2d marines were sent south through Japan after the surrender of the Japanese. One of their stops was Kumamoto where this trunk came from. This RARE trunk is the only one I have ever seen like it before. It has a lift out tray inside all made of aircraft aluminum. The bottom is a little beat up and there is a dent on the top. it is missing one rivet on each of the front latches. See photos for all details on the trunk.Measurements
