WWII JAPANESE 4 POWER SCOPE FOR TYPE 99 ARISAKA SNIPER RIFLE WITH CARRY CASE

ORIGINAL WORLD WAR TWO JAPANESE 4 POWER SCOPE FOR TYPE 99 ARISAKA SNIPER RIFLE WITH CASE.  This is a 4 power scope that was specifically issued for the Type 99 sniper rifle.  Approximately 7,200 of these 4 power scopes manufactured.
This scope is marked "4X7 NO. 5915" along with the arsenal marking.  The serial number of the rifle it was issued to is 1426.  The overall condition of the scope is very good showing some signs of wear & age to the finish - see photos.  The optics are clear with some minor dirt/dust particles caught in the lens.  The attach and release lever on the side is in working order.  The original rubber eyecup did not stand the test of time and is no longer present as is the case with most of these scopes.
The carrying case is in overall good condition showing some age & wear.  The leather closure tab is intact and both carry straps are present of the reverse.  The leather hinge on the reverse of the case that the lid opens and closes on is half separated (it is still attached but great care must be used when opening & closing to prevent total separation of the lid from the case).
Overall a fantastic example of this scope for the Japanese Type 99 Arisaka sniper rifle!
