WW II Imperial Japanese Navy - MODEL 2 ARTIFICIAL HORIZON - A6M J2M N1K - RARE!

You are bidding on a VERY RARE example of an Imperial Japanese Navy Model 2 Artificial Horizon!
SPECIFIC to single-engine fighters, this was only installed in the A6M "Zero", J2M Raiden "Jack", and N1K "Rex"/"George"
This instrument measured the current angle of attack by the use of pneumatic air pressure.
It was located on the main instrument panel.
Made of aluminum and steel, this piece is of later manufacture, and was removed from a downed Japanese aircraft by a US Serviceman during the war.
It features a Type 4 Aluminum Data Plate, indicating the type and manufacture.
The Japanese characters indicate, "Artificial Horizon Model 2".
It retains 95% of it's original paint and finish, and the markings still glow when UV light is applied!
The locking mechanism still functions...but it is very stiff, and does not move very much.  I suspect this would need to be lubricated and adjusted to lock/unlock correctly again.  Some slight scratches and corrosion due to the age, but still an EXCELLENT example!  I have indicated it's location in the last photo.
Like most Japanese instruments, this guage is VERY RARE and would be a FANTASTIC addition to any Japanese Instrument Collection!
