WW II Imperial Japanese Army - ENGINE RPM TACHOMETER TESTING UNIT - VERY NICE!

Description

You are bidding on a SUPERB example of a WW2 IMperial Japanese Army 0-1000 RPM Engine Tachometer Testing Unit, as used various trainer, fighter, and bomber aircraft!
This mechanical gauge was produced around 1944-1945 and measured the engine RPM for testing and calibration.
While the engine was running, the mechanic would place the end of the gauge into the apparatus he wished to test, and would then depress the small timer button on the top.
This will then give the observer the correct engine RPM.
Made of aluminum, brass, and steel, this instrument is in FANTASTIC used condition!
98% of the original finish remains, and is 100% functional!
It comes complete in the original box, however it seems to be missing a couple of the end fittings or tools.
The Kanji writing indicates "Revolutions per Minute", and the data label at the back depicts the Army Star, as well as the manufacture date of April 1944.
Some slight marks due to the age, but no breaks, damage, or cracks!
It is functional, however when pressing the "reset" button, it stops short of the "0" mark.
As it features a basic clockwork movement internally, that should be an easy calibration to get it correct (most likely just needs a cleaning).
I have never seen another one, making it a VERY RARE item!
Brought back after the war, it would make an EXCELLENT addition to any collection, display, or restoration project!
