Soyuz 9 Goodwill American Tour, 1970: Signed Color Photo of Mission Flight Engineer Vitaly Sevastyanov Presented to Neil Armstrong,Directly From The Armstrong Family Collection™, CAG Certified.
A 3.5" x 5.5" B&W photo of Sevastyanov signed and dated (October 28, 1970) in black felt tip on the front. Soyuz 9 (Jun 1-18, 1970) was an important mission in that it was the first night launch and because it set a new endurance record of eighteen days. NASA invited the crew of Andrian Nikolayev and Sevastyanov to visit the United States. They both arrived in Washington, D.C. on the 28th and were met by Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin who accompanied them on tours of Mount Vernon and the Smithsonian as well as a visit to the NASA office. They later visited Huntsville and Houston. Fine. Sealed in a numbered archival sleeve, CAG 1000260-022.
This lot will include a Statement of Provenance signed by Neil Armstrong's sons, Rick and Mark.
