This original cut down Japanese WWII shell is hand stamped and embossed by Japanese soldier with what appears to be a mountain on the front along with kanji letter wrapping around the shell. This shell casing would have
once been much larger and has since been cut down. The soldier added cigarette holders on three sides of the shell casing with one of them still remaining intact. The Japanese factory stamps on the bottom of the shell casing are very easily visible with remnants of cigarette ash buds visible still on the inside of the shell itself. Soldier’s in downtime would create trench art such as this with leftover materials of war, this being from the leftover shell casing.
