    Description

    Japanese Occupation Currency
In February 1942, the occupying Japanese government introduced new occupation currencies to replace those previously in use in the occupied territories of Malaya, North Borneo, Sarawak and Brunei.
The US and UK produced counterfeit occupation currency to disrupt Japan’s economy in those territories and cause sharp drops in the occupation currency's value.
