SCARCE JAPANESE ARMY WW2 MILITARY TYPE 30 REAR AMMO POUCH WITH ORIGINAL STEEL EARLY 3 PIECE OILER (OIL BOTTLE)Here is a very hard to find Japanese type 30 leather rear ammunition pouch in about very good condition and still complete with its original steel oiler / oil bottle. The leather is essentially soft and supple, some slight corrosion on the metal components, could easily be cleaned up a bit if you choose to do so.
Kanji Ink Marking inside the cover flap is in good shape remains very readable. Amazing condition for the age of the pouch, looks like leather is showa 14 marked so that would be 1939 date. Stitching looks complete and original. Early original 3 piece all steel oiler, complete and in very nice shape, and oiler disassembles / assembles correctly. If the oil can was ever painted the paint has flaked off. The set will compliment your Arisaka Type 38 Type 99 well.
Thank You for looking and good luck bidding.

Some Additional Details on This Model Pouch Follow:
Standard issue, model 30 (1897) leather rear (for back of belt attachment) ammunition pouch as used by the Japanese Imperial Army throughout World War Two. Pouch is approximately 6.75 inches long plus oiler x 3.00 inches wide x 3.75 inches tall. Thick brown leather. All the seams are tight.
The stitched hinge top flap is secured by passing its leather tongue through a horizontal closure strap on the front of the box. Below the closure strap the tongue fastens to a brass finial which fits through a hole punched in the tongue. The underside of the top flap has maker/showa date markings done in kanji.
The interior of the box has dual pockets separated by a thick leather divider running front to back at center. The box would have held Arisaka 6.5mm or 7.7mm rounds. The bottom of each interior compartment has an oblong hole allowing for the passage of air and moisture.
The back of the box has two belt loops which are again, made of thick leather and riveted to the box. Loops are in very good to excellent condition.
Attached to one end of the box is a steel tin oil can with screw top. This is held to the box by two horizontal and one vertical strap. No problems or issues with any of these straps. The vertical strap is punched with a hole that fits a finial on the lid of the can helping to hold it in place. The oil can itself is in about very good condition showing surface wear. The lid unscrews and round piece inside becomes the handle of an attached oiling rod. This is a very nice and complete example of a rare World War Two Japanese item.
